Chris Turner was born in Greenwood, SC September 1977. Chris has 3 siblings and was raised in Ninety Six, SC.
While a child Chris would always look forward to his mother and father playing cassette tapes of Conway Twitty, Alabama, and Loretta Lynn. "I always could tell how happy it made mom and dad to hear those songs on the radio and I told them that would be me one day".
Chris Turner graduated from Ninety Six High School in Ninety Six, SC in 1995. Shortly thereafter accepting the advice from his father, Chris decided to volunteer and serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. The Marine Corps taught Chris a valuable lesson. Anything is possible if you truly want it bad enough. This would lead to the drive and ambition that he has until this day. Always having a special place in his heart for music, he purchased his first guitar in Okinawa, Japan. Taking guitar lessons from a fellow Marine and self teachings made a quick way to pass the time on the tropical paradise.
In 2001, Chris wrote and recorded his first song "Gotta Be Tough". Chris has been performing in local establishments and festivals for more than 9 years. In 2010 Chris finally took the leap of faith, he packed up his wife and two kids then headed North to Nashville with the hopes and dreams of performing on the big stage. "My family is my strongest support system. Without their love and support none of this would be possible".
In April of 2011, the waiting and anticipation came to an end. Chris began work on his new self-titled album in Nashville at The Family Room Studio with the guidance of producer Dave Wilcox of Planet Nashville. Some of Chris' accreditation's include Star Idol Winner in 2002 and Paramount Songwriter Contest Honorable Mention 2009. Chris has also auditioned for multiple talent contests such as The Colgate Country Showdown, Nashville Star, America's Got Talent, and Music City Madness.
